Have you seen this movie? I actually liked it. It was surprisingly a little more "dark" than I expected, but then again I am not sure what I expected. I did NOT like the older ladies in bikinis...I could have done without that! Anyway, we snapped a couple pics of the kids watching with their 3D glasses on....FUNNY!
Trevor's daughter Abby moved to GERMANY! Before she took off, she spent a few days with us. It was incredible getting to know her better. We had a GREAT time! We were very sad to see her leave...especially Lys. She was so happy and thankful to have another girl in the house. Lys and Abby had fun watching movies, making hemp necklaces, playing night games, pulling an all nighter, and Abby even got Lys all fixed up with makeup. We are very excited for Abby and the adventures she will find in Germany. She is a talented, sweet, amazing girl that I'm sure will soak up all of EUROPE! Good Luck Abs with school, new stomping grounds, and EVERYTHING else. WE miss you! (BTW...she loved the kitty too!)
Lucy in the SKY! Lys finally got a kitty...and she has us all wrapped around her finger. She is truly darling. I never thought I would say that...and for sure TREVOR never thought he would either. He even LOVES her. She has taken to us all I'm sure. She is the whitest, with the pinkest nose/ears/feet, softest kitty EVER. Sugar (our dog) is finally getting used to her to. Our favorite thing is to watch her try to get Sugar to play with her. She'll try and sneak up on Sug...then hop sideways on all fours like she is skipping away FAST. Sugar just looks at her like she is a CRA-CEEE! Actually...we must be the crazy ones to have this many pictures of her already! We have had her for probably TWO weeks.
Lisa Soucie, who works at Trevor's office, recently took "engagement" (if you will) and family pictures of us. She did an awesome job. This is my FAVORITE summer activity! I visited Cherry Hill many times growing up as a child. However, it has grown and the LAZY RIVER is my FAV! If you have time to squeeze this in to your summer activities before SCHOOL activities bog you down....take your family to Cherry Hill in Kaysville! We had our Mathews Family Reunion here. We stayed in the BEST hotel after ABBA. It had a GREAT waterpark inside including a waterslide that LEFT the building. For what we paid, with a waterpark and breakfast included, it was a GREAT deal! Next time you head to Utah, check out the Holiday Inn Express in West Valley City. It is just behind the E Center. Not only do you take the belt and avoid a lot of the SLC traffic....it is middle ground for everything else and it seems so much easier to get around. Last year Trevor & I went to the Utah Symphony 4th of July performance at Deer Valley in Park City, Utah. It was amazing. Who would have thought sitting on a lawn chair, on the side of a ski hill, surrounded by an orchestra would be that great? Amazing it was. We were excited to try it the next year, only with the kids. When we were ready to buy tickets, we saw that two weeks later "ABBA" hits were going to be played. Allysa LOVES Mama Mia so we opted for that performance instead. We left Saturday morning with FOUR kids to Utah to enjoy the symphony. As the orchestra introduced themselves, we noticed they brought out singers....which made sense since this was ABBA songs we were listening to. Of course they had to have someone sing them. As they were singing....we noticed their clothes (ha ha), their platform shoes (totally from the 70's), and their dance moves (which you cannot TEACH those moves these days). Trevor astonished said "this is ABBA!" We were so clueless.....had NO idea that we bought tickets to see ABBA. We thought we were there to see the symphony. It was truly awsome. The kids LOVED it! Trevor & I were almost more entertained by watching the boys dance and Allysa sing almost every song word for word. What an experience! So...when someone asks you to go watch the Utah Symphony at Deer Valley....YOU SHOULD GO! It was a great family experience. Here it the website to check out other events.
